NEW ENERGY EFFICIENCY STANDARDS
Ashley O’Connor, a Woodworking and Engineering teacher at New Canaan High School, and sophomores in the tree Andrew DeFranco (l.) and Miles Turpin (r.) created attractive wooden signage directing children and their parents to the New Canaan Garden Club’s Children’s Mushroom Maze in Irwin Park.
The New Canaan Garden Club’s spring fundraising event, New Canaan in Bloom, generated funds to support the restoration of the Peony Walk at Waveny Park, and the civic beautification and educational outreach activities of the NCGC. A portion of the proceeds was donated to the Food Pantry Garden located at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
Our updated New Canaan Garden Club website is now LIVE! It is always a work-in-progress but the content, graphics and navigation tools have all been updated and enhanced.
SPECIAL MESSAGE TO ALL NCGC MEMBERS
A sustainable garden should be able to adapt and continue indefinitely without requiring external inputs. A sustainable garden must not leave its environment depleted, but restored and in balance. A sustainable garden should be easy on the gardener, requiring low maintenance and little demand on the budget.
Templates for GCA Entry Forms can be downloaded below and saved on your home computer to use at GCA Flower Shows. There are different templates for each class so be sure to use the correct one.
