Congratulations to all that entered our February Sweeps “Still Life”! We received very positive feedback from our members about how much they enjoyed viewing our photos! A big thank you goes to Jeanie Shaw for helping us put together our second virtual sweeps.   Awards (with corresponding photographs) were announced today in the NCGC March Newsletter. Fifty-one NCGC members voted in a “People’s Choice” popular vote.   By People’s Choice, awards presented to: #1 Award – Elizabeth Vigano, “Zen” #2 Award – Maureen Mayer, “Treen and Light” #3 Award – Maura Craig, “Sands of Time” HM –  Dawn Kurth, “Pomegranate Pop” HM – Katie Stewart, “Whoops…” Most Creative – Weezie Reid, “Arctic Puffin”     

Outside Opening Meeting on September 16th

Welcome back! We are trying our best to create some sense of normalcy to our 2020-2021 Garden Club year while at the same time keeping the health and safety of our membership a priority. If you feel comfortable, please do join us for our September opening meeting on the morning of Wednesday, September 16th, which will be held outside at Waveny. We will be spread out on the back lawn, socially distanced, and we will all be wearing our masks! If the weather does not cooperate and it rains, we will move our meeting to September 23rd, same set up. Please note the earlier start time!      Continue Reading →

Irwin Park News

We have raised enough money to complete the Flexi-pave loop at Irwin Park. Installation of the original one mile path was in Spring 2014. Construction should begin next week (weather permitting). Please stop by Irwin Park in mid-November and take a walk around the entire park. We purchased 4,000 daffodil bulbs which will be planted after the trail is finished. It should be a beautiful Spring at Irwin Park.
